WG Series (Articulating)Articulating Wagon Gears
Farm wagon running gears with a revolutionary articulating design for reduced stress on uneven terrain.
There are a few facts that farmers know about farm wagon running gears. Fact 1: Rough, uneven terrain is hard on wagon running gears. Fact 2: Most farms have a lot of rough, uneven terrain. Put those two facts together and you have a situation where your farm wagon running gear is practically begging to wear out. We looked at the traditional wagon running gear designs on the market and thought, “There has to be an even better way.” It didn’t seem like there was, so we built it ourselves. It’s called the articulating wagon gear.
The first thing you’ll notice about the articulating wagon gear is the unique double coupling pole design which replaces the typical reach pole found on other farm wagon running gears. Articulating ball joints on the coupling poles allow the front and rear axles to rotate and flex independently of each other. Heavy-duty models feature tandem rear axles with a ‘walking beam’ design that also allows the right and left wheels to travel over bumps independently. Because there are no rotating collars to wear out, the articulating wagon gear is incredibly durable, even when handling the constant abuse of heavy loads and uneven ground.
The articulating wagon gear is also a winner on the road. Automotive-style ball joints, bronze bushings, and 1” plate metal on the steering mechanism will help to keep everything tracking straight and going strong for thousands of miles. With a capacity of up to 36,000 lbs., this is a heavy-duty farm wagon running gear, ready for the toughest tasks a farm can bring it. (For a more traditional wagon gear design, check out our conventional wagon gears.)
Standard Features
Every articulating wagon gear is fabricated from reinforced heavy-gauge steel, held together with top-quality welds. Before it leaves the shop, each running gear is coated with a two-part polyurethane paint. The paint application process uses electrostatic charges to ensure even paint coverage over the entire running gear.
In addition, Farmco’s articulating wagon gears come standard with:
Automotive-style ball joints, along with bronze bushings and 1” plate steel for a trouble-free steering mechanism.
Articulating ball joints to connect the coupling poles to the axles and allow the axles to rotate independently of each other.
Articulating ball joints at opposite corners which allow the front and rear axles to move independently (wagon gear shown from front).
